STAGES 2 & 3 - TORFIELD PLAY PARK 

COMMENCES ON MONDAY 1st FEBRUARY 2021 through to 8th MARCH 2021

Timings: 07:30hrs to 1600hrs Monday to Friday - there may be some Saturday work - We will let you know in advance.

There will be lots of activity, mechanical machines and vehicles, so please be very carefully when walking in Torfield.

Obviously the above schedule is weather dependent and Covid lockdowns dependent.

Village Ranger (Parish Patrol) position – MARLDON PARISH COUNCIL

Purpose: To protect the Parish community, its assets and green spaces with regular patrols, reporting issues needing repairs, damage etc., ensuring the safety of the users in the Play Park and other areas with recreational and leisure facilities. Ensuring there is no anti-social behaviour.

The list below is not exhaustive and other duties may be required over time and awareness as the role transpires.

The candidate must be local to the Parish of Marldon & Compton, have handyman abilities and a ‘can do’ approach to most situations. Transport essential as the Parish covers a large rural area.

£8.91 per hour – 8hrs per week (initially) Start Date: Tuesday 5th April 2021

In return the Parish Council will offer a reasonable remuneration (minimum wage) regular hours with possible overtime, the necessary safety clothing required, a pay as you go mobile phone, litter picker and other such items required to carry out the duties listed below. Mileage.

Health & Safety training will be required and the candidate will already be DBS cleared or prepared to have a DBS check carried out as there will be contact with children and vulnerable people whilst patrolling certain areas within the village.

The Village Ranger will report to the Clerk.

Duties:

Inspect all green areas for damage, dog fouling, litter and drug use.

Inspect all walls, hedges and steps for damage or repair.

Monitor school entrance at drop off and collection times, during term time for illegal/inconsiderate parking/ dog mess.

Check the Parish for illegal/abandoned vehicles, vans etc.

Check all Parish owned gates and fences for damage and repair.

Dog Mess bag refill stations.

Inspect play park (Play Park Patrol) on a daily basis for damage, rubbish, illegal use, or anti-social behaviour.

Collection of litter and report any fly tipping.

Check all notices and signs are in place and legible.

Check all drain, streams and brooks for discarded items, rubbish and blockages. (reporting only)

Check all green areas: Jubilee Meadow especially for dog mess and litter and any evidence of anti-social behaviour.

Likewise at Torfield, Peters Field and Broomhill Meadow.

Check Salt bins and clean if required.

Check roads for potholes and road markings are clear. (reporting only)

Check underpass is clean and no evidence anti social behaviour.

Check Interactive signage is working correctly. (when installed)
